Cocoa Beach

Cocoa Beach is located on the eastern coast of Florida, just south of Cape Canaveral. Located between Cape Canaveral and the Atlantic Ocean, it enjoys pleasant weather throughout the year that is a great draw to tourists around the country.

In addition to its beautiful weather, one of the most popular attractions found at Cocoa Beach is the Ron Jon Surf Shop. This 52,000 square foot store is known throughout the world for being the world's largest shop to offer beach skate, surf, and beach apparel. Originally a small one room shop, Ron Jon Surf Shop has grown immensely, taking up two floors and staying open 24 hours per day.

For those that would like to get a bit more educated about surfing, a museum dedicated to surf school and surfing is located behind the Ron Jo Surf Shop. A sculpture garden is also located nearby, providing an opportunity to sit back and relax while taking in the sites.

In all, Cocoa Beach offers 72 miles of beaches along the Atlantic coastline. As such, it is home to a number of diverse natural settings. The natural beauty makes it an ideal location for boating, kayaking, and taking eco-tours, which are offered daily.

Visitors interested in history enjoy taking a walk through the Historic Cocoa Village, which is found along the Indian River Lagoon. The town offers exquisite architecture and charming boutiques and specialty shops as well as find dining and casual dining opportunities.

A number of attractions exist on Cocoa Beach. The Andretti Thrill Park offers mini golf, go-kart tracks, a wave pool, laser tag, kiddie rides, and an arcade. Those looking for even more thrills might want to consider going parasailing with one of the parasailing services provided at Coca Beach.

Visitors interested in nature will enjoy the BCC Planetarium and Observatory where they can enjoy hands on exhibits as well as a 70 foot dome planetarium theater. The Brevard Museum of History and Science also offers a butterfly sanctuary and a two acre nature preserve. For those wanting to see even more animals, including those that are not native to the Cocoa Beach area, the Brevard Zoo is certainly a worthy stop.

Visitors that enjoy the nightlife will have to visit the Cocoa Beach Pier, where they can explore several restaurants and bars as well as shops and an ice cream parlor. A fishing pier and beach rentals can also be found here.
