Huntington Beach

The seaside city of Huntington Beach is located in Orange County in the southern portion of California. The beach enjoys a number of beautiful views from all sides, with the Pacific Ocean being to its west, Costa Mesa to its South, Fountain Valley to its east, Westminster to its northeast, and Seal Beach to its north.
Huntington Beach is well-known for its 8.5 mile long beach and mild climate. In addition, it offers excellent surfing opportunities that are enjoyed by visitors from around the world.
The waves at Huntington Beach are particularly coveted by surfers for their unique effect, which is caused by the waves from distant hurricanes as well as the edge-diffraction of ocean swells. In addition, the surf beach itself faces southwest because of the curve of its coastline. As a result, the waters frequently get strong surfs resulting from the hurricanes from the coast of Mexico. Due to its special surfs, a number of major surfing competitions are held at Huntington Beach every year.
Visitors to the city of Huntington Beach can also take advantage of the largest public pier on all of the west coast, which stretches from Main Street all the way into the Pacific Ocean. Another quality that is unique to Huntington Beach is the fact that it is home to the oldest Independence Day parade in all of the western United States, an event that is televised locally on a public access cable channel.

Nature lovers will love visiting Central Park, which can be found between Edwards and Gothard Streets. Here, visitors can enjoy seeing low water use plants as well as a wide variety of native wildlife.
In the downtown area of Huntington Beach, visitor can enjoy browsing through what has been described as a "colorful shopping district." An active art center can also be found in downtown Huntington Beach, as well as the International Surfing Museum, and a youth hostel. Downtown Huntington Beach was also the host of a number of famous acts and bands in both the 60s and the 70s. A number of bars, cafes, and restaurants can also be found in Huntington Beach.
Huntington Beach in California is home to a number of annual festivals and events, including the X-Games held during the summer and an annual kite festival.
