Kaanapali Beach

Ka'anapali, located on the island of Maui in Hawaii, is considered by many to be the best of the Hawaiian beaches when it comes to swimming. This is particularly true in the area near to the Sheraton Maui hotel. The fact that lifeguards are present at the beach is one more reason visitors choose Ka'anapali for their Hawaiian swimming adventures.
The gorgeous beach is anchored in place by a black volcanic cone and was once the home to green sugar cane fields and taro. The area was once the playland of Hawaiian kings and queens that visited the island as a relaxing retreat. Today, it is beautifully lined with tropical plants and palms and still considered by many to be one of the most perfect beaches in the United States.
Located on just off of highway 30 on the sunnier and drier side of west Maui, the beach of Ka'anapali offers a number of sandbars that help keep the waters calm and ideal for swimming. In addition, the area offers some of the most magnificent condos and resorts, with the Ka'anapali Beach Resort in particular being known for offering the "best of the best" to its guests.
Black Rock, which is a concrete path that runs along the entire length of the beach all the way to the Hyatt, divides Ka'anapali into two halves. This area of the beach is also well-known for its excellent snorkeling opportunities.

For those that enjoy surfing, Ka'anapali also offers a seasonal high surf. The beach is also known for its gorgeous sunsets throughout the year.
Ka'anapali is also a great family beach destination, as it offers restroom facilities with running water as well as showers. With the help of these facilities, the children can wash the sand and salt away from their bodies before loading back into the family vehicle. The on duty lifeguards and the calm waters also provides an extra element of security to families, particularly to those with young children or those that are not strong swimmers.
As with all of the Hawaiian beaches, Ka'anapali offers an abundance of natural beauty to all of its visitors. In addition, it is a great location for swimming, snorkeling, or simply having fun in the sun for both singles and families alike. Put all of these characteristics together, and Ka'anapali on Maui in Hawaii is certain to add up to an unforgettable beach vacation.
